한-불가리아 수교 30주년 기념전 불가리아의 글자 유럽의 알파벳

KF는 주한불가리아대사관과 함께 한국-불가리아의 외교관계 수립 30주년을 기념하는 전시 <불가리아의 글자-유럽의 알파벳>을 KF갤러리에서 개최한다.

20개국의 저명한 예술가 30인이 참여하는 이번 전시는 유럽의 3대 알파벳 중 하나로 알려진 불가리아 알파벳 개수를 따라 30점의 포스터 작업으로 구성되어 있다.

2007년 “제 5회 국제 트라이에니얼 스테이지 포스터” 전시 후 각 작가는 추첨을 통해 한 글자씩 선택해 알파벳 포스터 창작을 맡았고, 불가리아의 언어 특징과 독창성을 반영한 디자인으로 개성 있는 결과물을 완성했다.

그중 하나인 “Ь”는 불가리아의 35세 미만, 젊은 예술가와 학생 다수가 참여한 작품 공모를 통해 재창조되었다. 모든 포스터는 4색, 70x100cm 크기의 타이포그래피 디자인으로 구성되어 있다.

이번 전시의 목적은 9세기경 고대 불가리아어가 발명된 배경과 고대 문자 체계를 한국 대중에게 알리는 데에 있다. 관람객은 작품을 감상하면서 불가리아어가 그리스어, 라틴어와 함께 중세 유럽의 3대 알파벳으로 널리 퍼져나간 배경을 살펴볼 수 있을 것이다.

동 프로젝트는 국제 트라이에니얼 스테이지 포스터-소피아에 의해 제작 및 소피아 소재 지방자치단체 문화 프로그램의 지원으로 추진되었습니다.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Korea-Bulgaria diplomatic relations, the KF and the Bulgarian Embassy in Korea will jointly hold the exhibition The Letters of Bulgaria - Alphabet of Europe.

On display will be 30 posters created by 30 renowned artists from 20 countries, each reflecting one of the 30 letters of the Bulgarian alphabet, one of early Europe’s three major alphabets. Each letter was chosen by drawing lots during the international adjudication of the fifth International Triennial in October 2007 in Sofia. One of the letters, “Ь”, was recreated after a contest among young Bulgarian artists and students, in which more than 60 projects of authors up to 35 years of age took part. All posters are four-colored, in a 70 х 100 cm format, and of identical typographic design.

The exhibition is aimed at providing the Korean public with information about the introduction of the ancient Bulgarian alphabet in the ninth century. As viewers appreciate the art of the posters, they’ll learn how Bulgaria helped spread Orthodox Christianity and literature throughout Europe and how the Bulgarian alphabet took its rightful place alongside Greek and Latin as one of the continent's three main s.

The project was created by the International Triennial of Stage Poster - Sofia and is carried out with the financial support of the Sofia Municipality's Culture program.
