Distinguished Guests from Abroad Invited to Korea
In April, the KF started this year’s KF Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests. The first group, hailing from Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, was initially invited to visit Korea last year, but the visit had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since May, the program has brought in prominent figures from diverse fields, including arts and culture, science and technology, journalism, economy, as well as diplomacy and national security. The program helps build the foundation for promoting a better and deeper understanding of Korea and facilitate networking among people from a wide range of fields.
Since its inception in 1992, the KF’s Invitation Program for Distinguished Guests has invited 12,200 distinguished figures from overseas to Korea. Though the program was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic and the threat of the novel coronavirus remains, the KF seeks to strengthen human networking while observing the necessary health precautions.
