Uzbekistan to Host Non-verbal Comedy Hit ‘Nanta’
On July 1 and 2, the KF will hold three performances of the non-verbal comedy show Nanta in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of efforts to spread Korean culture in the Central Asian nation and promote bilateral arts and cultural exchanges.
Nanta is considered a modern successor to samullori, a genre of traditional Korean percussion music. Also featuring a K-pop contest and an Uzbek magic show, the 2-day event is hoped to help expand the Uzbek public’s interest in traditional Korean culture as well as Hallyu, the Korean Wave.
