Hotel: Booking into Culture—Koreana Summer Issue

Hotels have gone from simply being accommodations for travelers to comprehensive cultural spaces that reflect contemporary lifestyles. The summer issue of Koreana, the KF’s comprehensive arts and culture quarterly, highlights the rising phenomenon of the hotel stay not as part of a journey but as a meaningful destination in its own right.

The issue also features a diversity of articles like one on novelist Yun Ko-eun, winner of the British Crime Writers’ Association’s Dagger award in the category Crime Fiction in Translation; the exhibition Ghost Fashion by Ahn Chang-hong, known for his critical interpretation of modern Korean society through a range of genres; and Korean melodramas regularly appear on Netflix’s global top 10.
