Diego & Frida, a Smile Halfway

On December 6–17, the exhibition Diego & Frida, a Smile Halfway will run at the KF Gallery.
Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo are the best-known couple in contemporary Mexican art history. Lovers and comrades for over 20 years, from the time of their marriage in 1929 until Frida's death in 1954, Frida and Diego revolutionized the Mexican art world while standing at the forefront of modern Mexico’s social transformation. The exhibition will feature photographs of the couple from birth to death, alongside scenes of the political and social environment that surrounded them in the the political and social changes of the early 20th century.
This exhibition provides a unique opportunity for viewers to understand this couple, who overcame physical as well as psychological suffering through their arts, and to contemplate socially and politically charged images that depict Mexico in an era of modernization and change.
