ROK-US Strategic Forum

Since 2006, the KF has organized the annual Seoul-Washington Forum as a 1.5-track bilateral dialogue channel so that specialists representing various fields can exchange a broad range of ideas related to pending policy matters and key issues of common concern. Ahead of the transition to the incoming Donald Trump administration, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the KF will co-host the first ROK-US Strategic Forum.
Under a theme of “US-ROK Alliance: Looking Ahead to the New Administration and Beyond,” the forum proceedings will include an open session on December 5 and a closed session on December 6. Representatives from both countries, with expertise in such areas as government, policy research, business, and cultural affairs, will gather to discuss the North Korean nuclear situation, the US-Korea bilateral alliance, trade cooperation, and regional issues pertaining to China and East Asia. The forum will serve as a platform for in-depth discussion of the future of the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia under the new US administration.
