2018 Conference on Korean Language Education in China

The KF and the Chinese Association for Korean Language Education and Research, represented by Professor JIANG Baoyou, will hold their annual conference on Korean language education in China at Yanbian University on July 21–22.
  The conference will seek ways of promoting Korean language education under the theme of “Syncretism and Communication: Korean Language Education and Direction for Development.” With the attendance of some 250 Korean language instructors from China and other countries, the conference will also feature the annual meeting of the International Association for Korean Language Education, research by Chinese educators of Korean language, and a competition of master’s and doctoral theses.
  As many as 270 colleges and universities in China have Korean language departments with more than 3,000 professors and 10 times as many students. Demand for Korean language education is expected to increase further at the institutions of higher learning in western China, spurred by the introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
  The KF and the Chinese Association for Korean Language Education and Research will join hands in improving the quality of Korean language education in China.
