From January 18 to 25, the ASEAN Culture House (ACH) lecture series ”Useful and Mysterious Viet Nam” was held at the Seminar Room on the second floor of the ACH.
Professor Bae Yang-su of the Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) was the first speaker of the lecture series. In his lecture, entitled “The Son of the Dragon and Taoist Hermit-Vietnamese in Vietnam Literature,” he offered an introduction to Vietnam through Vietnamese literature which people don’t usually have access to in Busan.
The second lecture was delivered by Professor Choi Ho-rim of Pukyong National University. Under the title of “Understanding the Society and Culture of Viet Nam,” he analyzed historic and contemporary events in Viet Nam to help participants better understand the country.
In conjunction with the Special Exhibition, “Salt of the Jungle,” the 2-part lecture series provided participants with an opportunity to gain a more in-depth understanding of Viet Nam.
