On December 1, 2017, the Korea Foundation (KF) hosted the 2017 KF Friends Night at the JBK Convention Hall in Seoul.
About 300 foreign residents who participated in the KF’s programs last year attended the event to wrap up the year 2017 together. Among them were KF Fellows studying Korean language and majoring in Korean studies with support from the KF, and participants of the many lectures held at the KF Global Center and such programs as the KF Korea Workshops, the KF Theme Field Trips, the KF Volunteer Network (KFVN), and the KF Global Challengers.
The Foundation’s Executive Vice President, Ms. Yoon Keum-jin, opened the event with her welcoming remarks. Thereafter, KF staff introduced the KF’s programs and activities, including the KF Global Challengers, the KF Fellowship for Korean Language Training, and the KFVN, and participants shared their experiences with the other “KF Friends” in attendance. Together, they enjoyed a quiz on Korean geography, society and culture, while the music by DJ Ferry added to the great atmosphere on the night.
In addition, the winners of an online photo contest about Korea, launched prior to the KF Friends Night, received their awards. They were Peng Keje, Wyckliffe Francis and Rachel Hwang who captured the beautiful scenery in Jeonju, Gyeongju and Suwon, respectively.
The KF Friends Night provided participants of the KF’s programs with an opportunity to look back on their experiences, reflect on what they had learnt, and get better acquainted with one another, enhancing everyone’s network in Korea.
At the Korea Foundation, we all look forward to our KF Friends’ active participation throughout 2018.
