Jointly with the Australian Political Exchange Council, the Korea Foundation invited six young Australian political leaders to Korea from April 14 through 20, 2018.
Headed by Jon Krause, a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and of the Queensland Parliament, the Australian delegation visited relevant organizations and had a meeting with Korean politicians during their stay in Korea to learn more about Korea’s society and political system.
They met with Song Myung-hwa, Member of the Gangdong District Council, Seoul; Won Yu-chul, Member of the National Assembly (Liberty Korea Party) and President of the Korea-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Association; and Park Yong-jin, Member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea) to seek ways to increase parliamentary exchange between the two countries. At Korea’s National Assembly, they visited the main conference room and broadened the scope of their understanding of Korea’s parliamentary and election systems.
In addition, they visited the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea and the Korean Dairy Industries Association to learn about the current status of trade between Korea and Australia and discuss how to increase bilateral trade.
