The Korea Foundation and the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies co-hosted the First Korea-China Young Journalists Dialogue at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on May 28, 2018.
The dialogue was organized to build a permanent platform for exchange between Korean and Chinese journalists. It aims at bridging gaps in mutual understanding, thereby promoting friendship between the two countries.
Under the theme of “Korean and Chinese Journalists’ Perspectives on the Political Situation on the Korean Peninsula,” the two countries’ journalists engaged in frank discussions on the changing political situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia.
The participants from the Korean side included young journalists covering China and international issues from the Dong-A Ilbo, the Segye Ilbo, the Aju Business Daily, the JoongAng Ilbo, KBS, China Lab, the Hankyoreh, and other news media. The Chinese participants included South Korea correspondents for Chinese news outlets including the Economic Daily, the Legal Daily, Xinhuanet, CCTV, the People’s Daily Online, the People’s Daily, and China Radio International.
