
In April 2018, the ASEAN Culture House (ACH) successfully hosted the “Easy Access Cambodia” program, the second instalment of the “Easy Access ASEAN” series, attracting great attention for Cambodia. The program consisted of various events and activities to increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of Cambodia. As part of the ACH Lecture Series “Useful and Mysterious ASEAN,” Professor Jung Yeon-sik of Changwon National University and Professor Jeong Yeon-chang of the Catholic University of Daegu delivered lectures on Cambodian society, culture and history. Other activities on offer included an event where children could build 3-D puzzles in the shape of Angkor Wat; an introduction to the Khmer language offered by Cambodian exchanges students; and a cooking class to prepare a popular Cambodian dish (Lok Lak) and dessert (Ja Jouy), led by a chef of a Cambodian restaurant and Cambodian students studying in Korea. The ACH also screened two Cambodian films, “Golden Slumbers” and “Vattanac,” and held a talk with Cambodian film producer SUM Sithen.

In addition, kid reporters interviewed Cambodian students who participated in the program as instructors and asked them questions about Cambodia.
