The Korea Foundation invited a delegation of 13 leading journalists from 12 countries to Korea from June 25 through 30, 2018.

The delegation included CEOs, editors-in-chief and foreign affairs correspondents from influential news media companies around the world, such as Francisco Aguirre Gomez, Chairman, President & CEO, Grupo Radio Centro (GRC), Mexico; and Luis Gomes Paulo, President, New Media Group, Angola.

Especially, GRC Chairman Francisco Aguirre Gomez of Mexico has been ranked eighth on the list of the most influential figures in Mexico. He has been active in contacting major broadcasting companies and entertainment companies in Korea since last year to broadcast Korea-related content.

Senior Editor Shubhajit Roy of the Indian Express is a leading journalist in India who has interviewed international leaders including former U.S. President Obama. Editor-in-Chief Mian Abrar Hussain of Pakistan Today has written in-depth articles on Korea many times, including “South Korean Lessons in Democracy” (February 2017).

In addition, the foreign affairs correspondents covered the political situation on the Korean peninsula, recently facing significant changes toward peace. They visited key government ministries including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Unification, and participated in a session for foreign journalists at the Jeju Forum held from June 26 to 28 to discuss the role of international media for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula and world peace.
Further, the journalists covered the various fields of Korea and discussed ways to promote cooperation in the media sector. International Correspondent Gints Amolins of Latvian National Radio plans to write a feature article on inter-Korean relations, while Director Alba Nely Familia Lara of CDN of the Dominican Republic will produce a ary to introduce the development of South Korea.
