From September 9 through 15, 2018, the Korea Foundation hosted a visit to Korea by a delegation of eight next-generation leaders from India.
The delegation was composed of journalists expected to contribute to increasing exchanges and cooperation between Korea and India. Each of them currently works for leading television companies and English newspapers such as The Hindu, Times Now, Indian Express, and DTNext, which count many Indian intellectuals among their subscribers.
The invited guests visited the Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the JoongAng Media Group, YTN, the Press Arbitration Commission and other relevant institutions. They also visited the National Museum of Korea, enjoyed traditional performances and experienced traditional Korean culture. In addition, they visited Jeju Island where the headquarters of the Korea Foundation is located. They enjoyed the island’s beautiful natural environment, which includes several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and were briefed on the current status and development plan of the island by officials of the Jeju Provincial Government.
The Korea Foundation has increased exchanges between Korea and India to a great degree and will continue to strengthen its exchange programs with the country, responding to the South Korean government's foreign policy to build a responsible “Northeast Asia Plus Community” and promote peace and prosperity in the region.
