In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Seoul, the Korea Foundation hosted the opening ceremony of the “Carpets, Pearls of Azerbaijan” exhibition at the KF Gallery in Suha-dong, Seoul, on Friday, November 28, 2018.

The opening ceremony began with welcoming remarks by Korea Foundation President Lee Sihyung, followed by a speech by the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Korea. H.E. Mr. Ramzi Teymurov.

Providing an opportunity to take a look at the valuable history of Azerbaijani carpets, which were inscribed on the UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010, the exhibition introduces diverse carpet weaving techniques, materials and aesthetics that were handed down for centuries.

The exhibition features 18 carpets as well as musical instruments, traditional costumes, ceramics and other crafts, showing the life and customs of the Azerbaijani people. The “Carpets, Pearls of Azerbaijan” exhibition continues until Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at the KF Gallery in Seoul.
