On December 14-15, the “2018 Workshop for Korean Language Educators in Eastern Europe” was held at Comenius University in Bratislava, the largest university in Slovakia.
It was the first workshop specifically held for educators in Eastern Europe and the main topics were effective Korean language teaching methods and the evaluation of speaking skills. About 30 Korean and non-Korean educators from 9 countries attended, including several that receive support by the KF’s “Dispatch of Visiting Professor” program.
The “Workshop for Korean Language Educators Abroad” has been held since 2003 through the cooperation of the Korea Foundation (KF) and the International Association for Korean Language Education (IAKLE). The workshop aims to improve Korean language education and research at overseas universities. In July 2018, a workshop for educators in Asia was held in Singapore.
