
On March 14, 2019, the Korea Foundation jointly hosted the 4th Korea-Singapore Forum in Seoul with the Korean Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) of the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Held under the theme “Strengthening of the ROK-Singapore Partnership for the Next Wave of Global Change“, the forum was attended by experts from Korea and Singapore representing various fields, including academia, corporate research institutes, and mass media. Second Vice Foreign Minister Tae-ho Lee and lawmaker Seok-hyun Lee (chairman, Korea-Singapore Parliamentary Friendship Association) from the Korean side and Deputy Secretary for Asia-Pacific Ng Teck Hean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lawmaker Yaacob Ibrahim from the Singaporean side were among those in attendance.
Throughout the forum, Korean and Singaporean experts engaged in active, multi-faceted discussion and exchanged ideas through three sessions: “Political Security Cooperation: ROK-Singapore Partnership for the Next Wave of Global Change,” “Economic Cooperation: ROK-Partnerships for Smart Cities,” and “Socio-Economic Cooperation: Jobs and Skills in the Digital Economy.”
