From March 14 through 17, ASEAN Culture House hosted “Easy Access Brunei Darussalam” as the first event in the “Easy Access ASEAN” series.
On March 14 (Thu), travel writer Jihyung Chai and exchange students from Brunei Darussalam delivered various aspects of Bruneian society and culture, including must-visit sites for Korean travelers and etiquette rules, at ASEAN Travel Workshop-Brunei Darussalam.
On March 16 and 17 (Sat~Sun), a family-targeted cultural experience program allowed the children and parents to make “safety umbrellas” decorated with traditional symbols of Brunei Darussalam. In an adult cooking class on Brunei cuisine, participants made Cucur Udang (Brunei-style prawn fritters) and Bubur ubi manis bersama sago dan jagung (sweet potato porridge with sago and corn). All participants of the cultural experience programs learnt and tasted Bruneian culture by the Bruneian culture class led by the Bruneian students.
It is expected that the Easy Access Brunei Darussalam provided a chance to better understand on Bruneian society and culture and to communicate with Brunei Darussalam with all participants.
