In January 2014, the Korea Foundation implemented a restructuring of its organization in order to reinforce its mid- and long-term management goals, which includes efforts to strengthen its identity as a public diplomacy organization, enhance the competitiveness of its activities, and institute a model of sustainable management. The restructuring also reflects the Foundation’s vision of becoming a world-class public diplomacy organization that welcomes the participation of the Korean public. The newly created Bureau of Strategic Management and Office of Program Innovation will coordinate measures to bolster administrative oversight and management accountability. In addition, the previous six divisions and 17 departments have been reorganized into 12 mid-size departments and one office in order to improve the organization’s flexibility and efficiency.
