On January 11, the 9th Volunteer Gathering was held to send off the old year and to ring in the new one. Following congratulatory remarks by Cha Du-hyeon, vice president of the Korea Foundation, who highly praised the hard work of the volunteers, awards were presented to recognize the contributions of representative Shin Jae-seop, and Kim Yun-jin and Park Seong-hye, instructors of the Korean Language Class program. Activity reports by each of the teams served as a chance to reflect on 2013, and prizes were given to outstanding volunteers who had done their best in the past year. It was a meaningful time for the volunteers to gather together and encourage each other.
