29th Korea-Japan Forum
On December 3, the KF will hold the 29th Korea-Japan Forum online. The
forum was launched in November 1993 in the wake of the Korea-Japan
summit meeting held in Gyeongju. Ever since, it has been held
annually, alternately in Korea and Japan, and acts as a channel to
promote broad and continuous dialogue between the two countries. Due
to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s forum will be held via
videoconferencing, with Korean delegates gathering at the JW Marriott
Hotel Seoul.
The Korean and Japanese delegations will be joined by citizen leaders
from various walks of life, including the government, parliament,
economic sector, mass media, and academia. Discussing bilateral
cooperation, they will focus on such topics as “The Domestic Political
Situation and Society of Korea and Japan,” “Korea-Japan Responses to
Changes in US-China Relations and the East Asian Order,” “Korea-Japan
Cooperation in the Economic and Industrial Technology Fields,” and
“How to Cope with Pending Bilateral Conflict Issues.”
