2021 KF Global Forum on Korean Studies
On December 15, the KF will hold the 2021 KF Global Forum on Korean
Studies in celebration of the 30th anniversary of its founding. Under
the theme of “Overseas Korean Studies: Paradigm Changes and Future
Development,” the forum will be held at the Westin Josun Seoul.
Experts from major Korean and overseas universities and colleges will
hold an in-depth discussion on the development of overseas Korean
studies, reviewing important achievements in the Korean studies field
by region and discipline. Participants will also reflect on the
paradigm changes in the field and draw up key suggestions for the
future development of Korean Studies.
The forum will be attended by over 50 experts from a score of
countries, including Prof. Clark W. Sorensen from the University of
Washington, USA; Prof. Eun-jeung Lee from the Freie Universität
Berlin, Germany; Prof. Renato Balderrama Santander from the
Universidad Autónoma De Nuevo León, Mexico; Prof. Sergei Kurbanov from
Saint Petersburg State University, Russia; Prof. Junya Nishino from
Keio University, Japan; and Prof. Sarah Benjamin from Ain Shams
University, Egypt. Participants will engage in a vigorous exchange of
opinions on a variety of subjects related to the humanities, social
sciences, the Korean Wave, Korean language, and online education.
