[Review] 2021 ASEAN-KOREA Futurist Group Conducts Mission Activities
From July through December 2021, the fifth group of the ASEAN-Korea
Futurist (AKF) carried out team and individual missions to promote
networking between ASEAN youths studying in Korea and Korean youths.
AKF is an international youth exchange program operated by the KF’s
ASEAN Culture House (ACH). The fifth AKF group was comprised of nine
students from ASEAN member states and 23 Korean participants.
The individual missions began with two rounds of educational sessions
about ASEAN and continued with the tasting of various Southeast Asian
noodle dishes and the production of a video introducing them. The team
missions were conducted at the Busan Multicultural International
School, the Busan University of Foreign Studies, and Youth Jakdangso,
and involved participants operating the ASEAN Dessert Truck and
introducing ASEAN attractions to Busan residents.
Arumjigi Culture Keepers Foundation is a nonprofit cultural
organization that has been studying traditional Korean culture and
seeking its modern inheritance since its founding in 2001.
Through the missions, participants built and enhanced friendships,
learned about and experienced the ASEAN region, and had a meaningful
time promoting ASEAN and its association to Korea.
