‘Intense Difference of Its Own’ Exhibition Moves to Canada

Intense Difference of Its Own, an exhibition of artworks by artists with disabilities, will adjourn to Canada following its showing in Korea. From September 5 to 29, the event celebrating the 60th anniversary of Canada-Korea diplomatic relations will make its way to the Korean Cultural Centre Canada (KCC) in Ottawa.

As in Korea, the Canadian showing of Intense Difference of Its Own will feature artworks in multiple genres by a score of individuals and teams, including late Canadian-Korean sculptor Won Lee, Pixel Kim (Kim Hyunwoo), Michelle Bennie, Brian Ehnis, and other NaAC members. The Canadian show was preceded by exhibitions held at the KF Gallery in Seoul from June 19 to August 12, and at the International Convention Center on Jeju Island from July 11 to July 23.

The exhibition realizes its aim of promoting artistic exchange that extends beyond disability and national borders, with Korean artist Pixel Kim teaming up with fellow KCC Artist-in-Residency Michelle Bennie of NaAC to collaborate on works that further cement bilateral friendship. It is also hoped that the exhibition will touch the hearts of viewers around the world and contribute to enhancing comprehensive cooperation between Canada and Korea.
