2023 ASEAN Cooking Class Continues

In October, the KF ASEAN Culture House (KF–ACH) continues one of its most popular programs, the ASEAN Cooking Class. As of September 1 of this year, the cooking class has introduced a variety of tasty dishes from the ASEAN member states. The class focuses on the cuisine of a single country each week and is jointly conducted by a teacher from one of the respective ASEAN countries and a Korean chef.

In October, the class will introduce dishes from Brunei Darussalam, Lao PDR, and Thailand. Focusing on dishes most popular among Korean tourists, participants will learn how to make baguette sandwiches and roti from Lao PDR; the Bruneian staple sambal tahai, using herring, and penyaram pancake; as well as khao soi and yam woon sen, a rice noodle dish and glass noodle salad, respectively, from Thailand.

October 13 is the application deadline for this year’s final ASEAN Cooking Classes. The last few classes will cover dishes from Myanmar, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. If you are eager to explore the diverse culinary arts of the ASEAN member states, please find detailed information on the KF–ACH website.
