[Jeju Playbook] A Happy Outing with My Beloved

A Happy Outing with My Beloved

One summer day when the sky was wide and blue, I was excited to hear that my one-year-old nibling would be coming to Jeju Island. After pondering over how best to share unforgettable memories with the baby who granted me the honor of becoming an uncle, I decided to show off the island’s natural scenery, especially the parts that people living off island cannot easily access.

A 10-odd-minute drive from Jeju National University’s Ara Campus took us to Morning Smile Farm where cows grazed leisurely in a spacious green pasture. All hopes of my precious young guest enjoying such a site were immediately shattered as they burst into tears upon seeing the cows mooing in the field. Thankfully, the tears stopped once the crier’s favorite rice cookies were served. The relieved parents and uncle could then appease their own hunger with freshly baked bread dipped in honey and kaymak. The interesting texture and crispy sweet taste of this treat, popular in countries from Southeast Europe to Asia, was truly pleasing to the palate.

The farm, with its spacious green landscape and uninterrupted view under perfect skies, turned out to be the best place to enjoy a relaxing time with my family. If any of you need some time away from your exhausting routines, or wish to unwind with loved ones, visit Morning Smile Farm for an enjoyable, peaceful get-together with the carefree cows.
