The KF ASEAN Culture House (KF–ACH) has recently begun releasing the second season of ＜Hip ASEAN!＞ on YouTube to enhance Korean and global viewers’ understanding of ASEAN culture.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Indonesia-Korea diplomatic relations, season2 spotlights Indonesia with its “Indonesian Marble Challenge” video, featuring a human-sized version of Blue Marble, a Korean board game similar to Monopoly. Other episodes include “Restaurant in Memory” presenting unique ASEAN food and “What’s in My Carrier?” in which ASEAN locals recommend great, reasonably priced souvenirs by price range.

 

 

 

The series is hosted by travel YouTuber Park Jaeil (“Channel Korean Jay”) who has released travel videos featuring ASEAN member states (AMSs) such as Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. He will introduce a variety of episodes related to AMSs, and panelists from the AMSs will also talk about each of their countries.

Compared to the somewhat one-sided stance in Season1, the storytelling in the new season of ＜Hip ASEAN!＞ is more diverse and delivers an abundance of information on AMSs through the use of discussions, games, missions, and so on.

Season2 will also be spiced up with the “Ending Quiz.” Anyone can participate in the quiz by commenting the right answer to the questions that appear at the end of each video. After the release of the third video, the right answers to the three questions will be revealed and the prize winners announced.
