2021 KF Assembly for Overseas Museums
In November, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding, the
KF will hold the 2021 KF Assembly for Overseas Museums, inviting to
Korea the directors and curators of renowned museums around the world
and prominent university professors who actively promote Korean art
abroad.
Among the invited participants will be representatives from the Los
Angeles County Museum of Art and the Dallas Museum of Art (US), the
Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), and the San Franciso Museum of Modern Art, SFMOMA(US).
During the assembly, participants will discuss the current status of
Korean art at their respective institutions and how to further promote
modern and contemporary Korean art. They will also visit Korean
national, public, and private museums, as well as artists’ studios, to
view modern and contemporary Korean artwork.
Alongside the assembly, 2021 Workshop for Next-Gen Curators of Korean Arts will be held for Korean undergraduate students, graduate
students, and emerging curators planning to work abroad, providing
them with an opportunity to network and share career information with
curators from around the globe. By promoting exchange between museum
professionals at home and abroad, and by involving next-generation
curators, the assembly aims to boost Korean art overseas and enhance
Korea’s image as a culture-oriented nation.
