2021 ASEAN Cooking Class for Autumn and Winter
On October 15, the autumn and winter term of the 2021 ASEAN Cooking
Class will begin at the ASEAN Culture House (ACH), celebrating the
fragrant arrival of autumn and clearer skies. The spring and summer
term of the class allowed participants to experience dishes from the
10 ASEAN countries; during the autumn and winter term, they will learn
about thematic foods that characterize the ASEAN region.
Participants will also enjoy the ASEAN member states’ colorful
culinary culture, tasting the many dishes that use rice noodles, an
ASEAN staple; aromatic coffee and tea and the baked desserts that go
well with them; and various foods accentuated with spices and
coriander leaves. The class will also introduce recipes that
reinterpret ASEAN cuisine or combine Korean and ASEAN flavors,
encouraging participants to try them at home.
